Once there lived an old couple in a village. They had three sons. All their sons had got married. All their sons had their own houses. All their sons had their children. The old husband and wife loved each other. They lived very happily.
One day, the old man was ill. Soon he died. The old man's body was in the room. The family were discussing about the funeral.
Suddenly,they heared the old man calling his wife. They all rushed into the room. The old man was sitting up. Everyone was very happy. The old man was back to his life.
But the old man only talked to his wife. He said, "I was on my way to heaven. I missed you very much. I worried about you. You would not be happy without me. So I came back. You deal with the affairs in the world and go with me."
The family all laughed. Everyone thought the old man had a mental problem. They did not want to make him unhappyr. The old woman said, "OK!,I will deal with the affairs and go with you."
The old woman went out. She stayed in the yard for a while. Then she came back. She lied to his husband, "I have returned what we borrowed from our nerghbours. I have dealt with all the affairs. Now I can go with you."
The old man said, "Put on your graveclothes, and lie beside me." Everyone chortled.
To make the old man happy, the old woman put on her grave clothes. Then she lay beside her husband. She closed her eyes.
At the beginning,the old woman chortled. Soon she became silent. After a while,they found the old man and woman were both dead. THE END （根据《聊斋志异》之《祝翁》改写）
