1. Christmas Day, the birthday of Jesus Christ, is one of the most important holidays in Britain and many other countries.

2. On Christmas Eve, parents usually remind their children to hang their stockings at the foot of their beds before going to sleep.

3. Children believe that Santa Claus, also known as Father Christmas, will visit them during the night and fill their stockings with gifts.

4. In reality, Father Christmas is the children’s father.

5. He dresses in a red coat and waits for the children to fall asleep.
