Chapter 7：Resilience and Hope Life at Lowood School became even harder.
The winter was especially cold, and many children fell ill.

I was very worried about her, but she comforted me, saying, "It’s all right, Jane." The teacher gave us a lot of homework.
I worked hard to complete all the assignments.
Although I was very tired, I kept going. Sometimes, the teacher would punish students who made mistakes.
I saw Helen endure many punishments, but she never complained.
She always smiled and quietly accepted everything. Winter finally passed, and spring arrived.
The weather became warmer, and the children at school began to recover their health.
I also started feeling better. Life slowly became a little better.
I started studying harder and achieved better results.
I knew that this school taught me not only knowledge but also resilience. |
