Months passed, and my life at Lowood School became more stable.
I began to get used to the rules here and became more independent.
Although life was tough, I kept working hard.

One day, the headmaster came to our class.
He checked each student and asked about our progress.

One time, Helen and I were walking together in the school garden.
We talked a lot, discussing our future.
She said she wanted to be a teacher and help more children.

I thought Helen was a very smart and kind person.
She always found strength in difficulties.
I learned a lot from her.

One day, I received a letter from my family.
The letter told me that everything at home was fine, and my parents missed me very much.
I felt a little sad but was also happy for my family.

My feelings became more complicated because of the letter.
I started to miss home but also knew that I had to keep going.
