Chapter 19:Waiting and Doubts After spending a few days at the mansion, I began to feel more comfortable. I learned more about Mr. Rochester; he was a complex and profound person. We began to communicate more frequently, sharing our feelings and thoughts. One evening, Mr. Rochester told me that he would be leaving for a while. In the days after Mr. Rochester left, I felt extremely lonely. His departure made me realize that I had special feelings for him. A few weeks later, Mr. Rochester finally returned to the mansion. Nevertheless, I still felt there was a certain distance between us.
