有一天，天气特别寒冷，老师让我们穿上外套去上课。
One day, the weather was especially cold, and the teacher asked us to put on our coats for class.
我从窗户看出去，看到外面的大雪纷飞。
I looked out the window and saw the snow falling heavily outside.
我的心里很难过，因为我想起了家。
I felt sad in my heart because I remembered home.

Although life was tough, I gradually made some friends.

One of the girls was named Helen, and she became my good friend.

Helen was very kind and always comforted me.

Helen told me that she had gotten used to the strict rules of the school.

She said that the only way to survive here was to follow the rules.

I felt that what she said made a lot of sense.

Sometimes, the teacher would punish us for small mistakes.

One time, Helen was made to stand for a long time because she took the wrong book.

I felt very sorry for her, but she said it was fine.

As the days passed, I became stronger and stronger.
我也逐渐适应了洛伍德学校的生活。
I gradually adapted to life at Lowood School.
