第二十五章：午夜的秘密Chapter 25: The Midnight Secret 婚礼前几天，天气突然变得阴沉。
A few days before the wedding, the weather turned gloomy.
雷声常常在夜里响起，风吹得窗户咯吱作响。
Thunder rumbled at night, and the wind shook the windows.
我心里越来越不安，梦里也常常惊醒。
I felt more and more uneasy and often woke up from strange dreams.
仿佛有什么黑暗的东西正在靠近。
It felt like something dark was drawing near. 有一天晚上，我醒来时听见房间里有动静。
One night, I woke up and heard a sound in my room.
我睁开眼，看见一个陌生的女人站在我的床边。
I opened my eyes and saw a strange woman standing by my bed.
她的眼神空洞，头发散乱，像个疯子。
Her eyes were empty, her hair wild—like a madwoman.
她拿起我婚纱，把它撕成了碎片。
She picked up my wedding dress and tore it to pieces. 我吓得动弹不得，只能看着她慢慢离开。
I was too scared to move and just watched her walk away.
她打开门，走进了走廊的黑暗中。
She opened the door and disappeared into the dark hallway.
我跑去找罗切斯特先生，告诉他发生的一切。
I ran to Mr. Rochester and told him everything.
他听了以后，脸色变得很沉重。
After hearing me, his face grew very serious. “别怕，简，”他说，“你不会再见到她。”
“Don’t be afraid, Jane,” he said. “You won’t see her again.”
“她是谁？”我问。
“Who is she?” I asked.
“只是一个疯女人，她已经离开了。”他回答。
“Just a mad woman. She has gone now,” he replied.
但我感觉他隐瞒了一些真相。
But I felt he was hiding something. 我低头看着被撕碎的婚纱，心里满是疑问。
I looked down at the torn wedding dress, full of questions.
我不知道，真正的风暴还在前方。
I didn’t know the real storm was still ahead.
我爱他，但我也害怕他不肯告诉我的过去。
I loved him, but I feared the past he would not share.
命运已经在黑夜中悄悄改变了方向。
