The Court of Accusation and the Royal Summons

1．

在森林王国，狮子国王召开大庭审，要对狐狸列那展开审判。

In the forest kingdom, the Lion King convened a grand trial to judge Reynard the Fox.

2．

许多动物聚集到王座前，一一讲述自己被狐狸欺骗的遭遇。

Many animals gathered before the throne, each recounting how they had been tricked by Reynard.

3．

一只胆小的袋鼠走上前来，低着头说：“他偷光了我家一整仓的粮草。”

A timid kangaroo stepped forward, lowering her head. “He stole the entire barn of grain and grass from my home.”

4．

“那是我留给孩子们过冬的食物，现在我们全家要活活饿死了！”

“It was the food I saved for my children to survive the winter. Now we’re all going to starve to death!”

5．

狮子皱起眉头，正要开口，一旁的狼大声补充道：“陛下，这只是冰山一角！”

The Lion frowned, about to speak, but the wolf interrupted, “Your Majesty, that’s just the tip of the tail!”

“他还骗我用尾巴钓鱼，结果尾巴冻断了！”

“He tricked me into fishing with my tail, and it froze right off!”

鸡们也气冲冲地站出来：“列那不仅偷蛋，他还利用我们对国王的感情！”

The hens stepped forward angrily. “Reynard didn’t just steal our eggs—he used our feelings for the King!”

“他假传圣旨，说国王要赐予我们特别保护。”

“He faked a royal decree and said the King was granting us special protection.”

9．

“他说我们要用新鲜的鸡蛋来感谢国王的爱戴，这样就能免受猛兽侵害。”

“He told us we should offer fresh eggs as a token of gratitude for the King’s love—so no wild beast would harm us.”

“我们信了，感动得不得了，结果乖乖地把蛋都下了出来。”

“We believed him. We were deeply moved—and laid all our eggs without hesitation.”

11．

“可列那收了蛋，转身就跑，把我们所有的蛋全部拿走了！”

“But Reynard collected the eggs, turned around, and ran off—he took every single one!”

12．

动物们纷纷喊道：“严惩列那！决不轻饶！”

The animals all cried out, “Punish Reynard! He must not be spared!”

13．

狮子怒吼一声：“够了！熊大人，立刻出发，把狐狸列那带来受审！”

The Lion roared, “Enough! Lord Bear, go at once and bring Reynard here to stand trial!”
