第一章： 王子的诅咒

Chapter 1: The Prince’s Curse

1. 很久以前，有一个王子住在一座漂亮的城堡里。

   Long ago, a prince lived in a beautiful castle.

2. 他有金色的皇冠，穿着闪亮的衣服。

   He wore a golden crown and shiny clothes.

3. 他看起来很英俊，但内心非常傲慢。

   One night, a ragged old woman came to the castle door.

   She asked the prince to let her in from the rain, offering a rose in exchange for shelter.

   The prince did not listen and still ordered her to leave.

   Suddenly, the old woman vanished and turned into a beautiful enchantress.

   The prince was shocked, but it was too late to apologize.

   The enchantress punished him and turned him into a scary beast.

   She also turned the servants into talking furniture.

14. 她给了王子一朵魔法玫瑰。

   She gave the prince a magic rose.

   The rose would bloom fully on the prince’s twenty-first birthday.

   If he could fall in love with a girl before the last petal fell,

   and earn her love in return, the spell would be broken.

   Ashamed of his hideous appearance, the Beast shut himself away in the castle.

   Year after year passed, and the prince fell into despair.
