Chapter 2:  Belle’s Life

1. 在一个宁静的小村庄里，住着一位年轻的女孩，名叫贝儿。

   In a quiet little village, there lived a young girl named Belle.

2. 她聪明、善良，最喜欢的事就是看书。

   She was smart and kind, and her favorite thing was reading books.

3. 每天早上，她都会去镇上的书店借书。

   Every morning, she would go to the bookshop in town to borrow a book.

4. 村民们觉得她很奇怪，因为她不像其他人那样喜欢闲聊或打扮。

   The villagers thought she was odd because she didn’t like to gossip or dress up like others.

   She preferred stories about adventure, magic, and love.

   To Belle, the village was too small and boring—she longed for a bigger world.

   She rode through the forest and finally found the castle.

19. 她冲进城堡，要求野兽放了她的父亲。

   She rushed into the castle and demanded that the Beast release her father.

20. 贝儿提出用自己换父亲的自由。

   Belle offered to take her father’s place as prisoner.
