第一章：童年时代

Chapter 1: Childhood

1. 很久很久以前，在一个遥远的地方，有一个小小的王国，

   Long, long ago, in a faraway land, there was a tiny kingdom,

2. 那是一个充满了和平、繁荣、传统而又浪漫的国家。

   A kingdom that was peaceful, prosperous, traditional, and romantic.

3. 有一位绅士，和他美丽的女儿仙度瑞拉就住在这个国家里。

   There lived a gentleman and his beautiful daughter, Cinderella.

4. 可是这个绅士的太太过早地离开了他们，到另一个世界去了。

   But his dear wife died early, and left them alone in the world.

5. 从此，绅士决心要给女儿最美好的一切。

   So, the gentleman vowed to give his daughter the best of everything.

6. 但是他发现，女儿仍然缺少母亲的爱。

   Yet, he saw that the child still longed for a mother’s love.

7. 于是他又结婚了。

   And so he married again.

8. 他的第二个太太有两个年纪跟仙度瑞拉差不多的女儿，

   His second wife had two daughters about the same age as Cinderella,

9. 一个叫安泰西亚，一个叫崔西里亚。

   One was named Anastasia, and the other, Drizella.

10. 绅士在世的时候，这个继母对仙度瑞拉还很好。

   While the gentleman lived, the stepmother seemed kind to Cinderella.

11. 可是没多久，绅士就过世了。

   But soon, the gentleman also passed away.

12. 继母就露出了她那冷酷无情的本性。

   Then the stepmother revealed her cruel and selfish nature.

13. 她的两个女儿过着仙女一般的生活，

   Her daughters lived like princesses,

14. 而可怜的仙度瑞拉却被赶到屋顶的阁楼，

   While poor Cinderella was sent to the attic,

15. 成为了家中的仆人。

   And made a servant in her own home.

16. 善良的仙度瑞拉虽然受了这么大的欺辱，却从不埋怨。

   Though treated unfairly, kind Cinderella never complained.

17. 她心中只有一个愿望：希望有一天她的梦想能够实现。

   She held only one dream in her heart—that someday, her dreams would come true.
