Chapter 6: The Magic of the Carrot

动物们抬头，看到比尔像火箭一样飞走。

The animals look up and see Bill flying away like a rocket.

图图皱着眉说：“看来这个办法不行。”

Dodo frowns and says, “Well, that didn’t work.”

图图说：“那就只剩一个办法——放火烧房子！”

Dodo says, “There’s only one thing left—burn the house down!”

动物们把家具拆下来，堆在院子里。

The animals take the furniture apart and pile it in the yard.

他们点起火，浓烟滚滚。

They light a fire, and thick smoke rises.

爱丽丝咳嗽着说：“不要！停下！你们会害死我的！”

Alice coughs and says, “No! Stop! You will kill me!”

她拼命寻找办法逃出去。

She desperately tries to find a way to escape.

她看见院子里有一篮胡萝卜。

She sees a basket of carrots in the yard.

她说：“也许吃点东西能让我变小。”

She says, “Maybe eating something will make me smaller.”

她伸手抓到一根胡萝卜，咬了一口。

She reaches for a carrot and takes a bite.

果然，她的身体开始慢慢缩小。

Sure enough, her body begins to shrink.

她的胳膊慢慢从窗子里缩回来。

Her arms slowly draw back from the windows.

她的双脚也从门口抽了出来。

Her feet also pull out from the doorway.

她越来越小，房子里的空间越来越大。

She grows smaller, and the house feels bigger and bigger.

爱丽丝说：“太好了，我终于能出来了！”

Alice says, “Wonderful! Now I can get out!”

她推开门，从房子里走了出来。

She pushes the door open and walks out of the house.

外面的动物们吓得四散逃跑。

The animals outside scatter in fear.

图图扑着翅膀喊：“快跑！怪物出来了！”

Dodo flaps his wings and shouts, “Run! The monster is out!”

爱丽丝低头看看自己，已经恢复正常大小。

Alice looks down at herself and sees she is back to normal size.

她拍拍手上的灰，说：“这真是一次奇怪的经历。”

She brushes the dust off her hands and says, “What a strange experience this is.”
