第一章：奥萝拉的诞生

Chapter 1: The Birth of Aurora

 很久很久以前，在一个遥远的地方，住着一位国王和王后。

 Long, long ago, in a faraway land, lived a king and a queen.

 他们一直盼望有一个孩子。

They had always wished for a child.

终于，一个女儿的诞生让他们的愿望实现了。

At last, the birth of a daughter made their dream come true.

 他们为公主取名奥萝拉。

They named the princess Aurora.

“奥萝拉”就是“黎明”的意思。

 “Aurora” means “dawn.”

因为小公主为他们的生活带来了光明和希望。

For the little princess brought light and hope into their lives.

全国沉浸在欢乐的节日中。

The whole kingdom was filled with joy and celebration.

国王和王后邀请全国的人来参加庆典。

The king and queen invited everyone in the land to a grand celebration.

 三位善良的仙女也来了。

Three good fairies also came.

她们要为小公主送上特别的礼物。

They wanted to give the princess special gifts.

第一位仙女祝福她有美丽。

The first fairy blessed her with beauty.

第二位仙女祝福她有歌声。

The second fairy blessed her with a lovely voice.

当第三位仙女准备送出礼物时，宫殿的大门突然打开。

Just as the third fairy was about to give her gift, the doors of the hall suddenly burst open.

 一个邪恶的女巫——玛琳菲森走了进来。

An evil witch—Maleficent—stepped inside.

她非常生气，因为没有被邀请。

 She was very angry, for she had not been invited.

她举起魔杖，大声宣布一个可怕的诅咒。

She raised her staff and declared a terrible curse.

她说：“在她十六岁生日那天，公主会被纺锤刺伤！”

She said, “On her sixteenth birthday, the princess shall prick her finger on a spindle!”

“然后，她会立刻陷入沉睡，永远不会醒来！”

“And then she will fall into a sleep from which she will never awake!”

 所有人都吓坏了。

Everyone was shocked and frightened.

这时，第三位仙女走上前来。

Then, the third fairy stepped forward.

她说：“我不能取消这个诅咒，但我可以改变它。”

 She said, “I cannot undo the curse, but I can change it.”

 “公主不会死去，而是会在真爱的吻中醒来。”

 “The princess will not die. She will awaken with true love’s kiss.”
