第四章 · 新朋友

Chapter 4 · A New Friend

小飞象每天一个人待在角落里，默默流泪。
Dumbo stayed alone in the corner every day, quietly crying.

没有人再和他说话，大家都把他忘了。
No one talked to him anymore. Everyone seemed to forget him.

直到有一天，一只小老鼠出现了。
Until one day, a little mouse appeared.

小老鼠看见小飞象低着头，眼睛红红的。
The little mouse saw Dumbo with his head down and red eyes.

他悄悄地走过去，轻声说：“你为什么哭呢？”
He walked over quietly and said softly, “Why are you crying?”

小飞象抬起头，看见是一只小老鼠。
Dumbo looked up and saw it was a tiny mouse.

他有点害怕，因为以前从没和老鼠说过话。
He was a bit scared because he had never spoken to a mouse before.

小老鼠笑了笑，说：“别怕，我不是来欺负你的。”
The little mouse smiled and said, “Don’t be afraid. I’m not here to bully you.”

“我知道，你只是想念妈妈，对吗？”
“I know, you just miss your mother, right?”

小飞象点了点头，泪水又流了下来。
Dumbo nodded, and tears rolled down his face again.

小老鼠擦干他的泪，说：“别难过，你还有我。”
The mouse wiped away his tears and said, “Don’t be sad. You’ve got me.”

小飞象惊讶地看着他：“你要和我做朋友吗？”
Dumbo looked at him in surprise, “You want to be my friend?”

“当然！朋友是互相帮助的。”小老鼠回答。
“Of course! Friends help each other,” the mouse replied.

从那天起，小飞象和小老鼠形影不离。
From that day on, Dumbo and the little mouse were always together.

小老鼠经常给他讲笑话，讲故事。
The little mouse often told him jokes and stories.

他们在夜里聊天，一起看星星。
They talked at night and watched the stars together.

小飞象慢慢露出了久违的笑容。
Slowly, Dumbo began to smile again.

小老鼠告诉他：“你知道吗？你的耳朵是礼物。”
The mouse told him, “You know what? Your ears are a gift.”

小飞象惊讶地问：“礼物？大家都笑它呀。”
Dumbo asked in surprise, “A gift? Everyone laughs at them.”

“那是因为他们不懂。”小老鼠认真地说。
“That’s because they don’t understand,” said the mouse seriously.

“也许有一天，你会用它们做出别人做不到的事。”
“Maybe one day, you’ll do something no one else can do with them.”

小飞象抬起头，看着自己的耳朵，若有所思。
Dumbo lifted his head and looked at his ears thoughtfully.

他第一次觉得，自己也许真的与众不同。
For the first time, he felt that maybe being different wasn’t bad.

夜风轻轻吹过，他们相视一笑。
The night wind blew softly, and they smiled at each other.

一段新的友谊，就这样在马戏团的夜色中开始了。
A new friendship began quietly under the circus night sky.
