Chapter Nine: King of the Jungle
Since Clayton’s defeat, peace had returned to the jungle. The gorillas played under the sunlight, enjoying their freedom again. Tarzan led his family to find a new home. He climbed the tallest tree to look over the land. The wind lifted his hair; his eyes were steady and calm. Kala smiled nearby, remembering the little baby she once held. “You’ve really grown,” she whispered softly. Tarzan hugged her gratefully. Jane was learning to live in the jungle. She learned to climb trees, gather fruit, and even play with the monkeys. Professor Porter wrote in his journal, “My daughter chose nature, and I chose to stay and witness it.” Tarzan became the protector of the gorillas. He led them through storms and found food for them. The gorillas respectfully called him “Leader.” Tarzan often explored new places with Jane. They watched waterfalls, chased rainbows, and stargazed from the treetops. “This is our kingdom,” Jane said with a smile. Tarzan looked at the jungle, filled with pride and gratitude. He knew he was no longer alone. The song of the jungle echoed in the wind—Tarzan had become the true King of the Jungle.
