Chapter Seven: Memories and Calling Simba lived a carefree life in the jungle, but he still carried hidden pain. Sometimes he looked at the sky, as if searching for something. Timon and Pumbaa thought he was just tired, not knowing Simba’s secret. One day, Pumbaa was tackled by a lioness—it was adult Nala. Simba rushed to protect Pumbaa, only to stand face-to-face with Nala. The two lions froze, then embraced with joy. “Simba? You’re alive?!” Nala exclaimed. “I… I shouldn’t come back,” Simba whispered. Nala told him that Pride Lands had fallen into ruin under Scar’s rule. She begged Simba: “You’re the king. You have to return!” Simba shook his head painfully. “I can’t. I did something terrible.” That night, Simba wandered alone into the deep forest. Rafiki suddenly appeared and tapped Simba’s head. “Who are you?” Simba asked. “I know who you are… and you do too, you just forgot.” Rafiki led Simba to a pool and showed him his reflection. “Look harder.” The water shimmered, and Mufasa’s image appeared in the sky. “Simba, you have forgotten me… and forgotten who you are.” “Remember who you are. Go back to your kingdom,” Mufasa’s voice echoed.
