Chapter Eight: Battle in the Imperial City

Mulan realized the danger was far from over when she saw the Huns crawling out of the snow.

Shan Yu and his remaining soldiers began heading toward the Imperial City.

Mulan quickly mounted her horse and rushed to warn the capital.

The Imperial City was celebrating victory, unaware of the approaching danger.

Mulan found Li Shang, but the guards blocked her: “You’re no longer a soldier!”

She insisted, “The Huns are not defeated — Shan Yu is alive!”

Li Shang frowned, but before he could respond, the Huns attacked.

Shan Yu captured the Emperor and dragged him into the palace tower.

Chaos filled the city as soldiers were forced back.

Mulan had an idea: “We need… disguises again!”

Mulan, Timon, Pumbaa, and Yao disguised themselves and sneaked into the palace.

She led them climbing up the outside wall of the tower.

At the top, Li Shang was in a fierce battle with Shan Yu.

Shan Yu, incredibly strong, quickly knocked Li Shang aside.

Mulan appeared and drew Shan Yu’s attention.

She said, “The soldier you want… is me.”

Shan Yu roared in anger and chased after Mulan.

Mushu and the cricket worked together to light a huge firework rocket.

Mulan cleverly angled the roof tiles to send the rocket straight at Shan Yu.

The rocket exploded, carrying Shan Yu into the sky — the Imperial City was saved at last.
