第五章：成为真正的战士 Chapter Five: Becoming a Real Soldier 第二天清晨，军营的号角响起，士兵们迅速集合。
At dawn, the camp trumpet sounded, and the soldiers quickly gathered. 木兰还没站稳，就被队友推了一把。
Mulan was pushed before she could even stand properly. 李翔冷冷地说：“想成为士兵？先证明自己。”
Li Shang said sternly, “If you want to be a soldier, prove it.” 训练变得更加严格：爬绳、举石、投矛、攀木桩。
Training became harsher: climbing ropes, lifting weights, throwing spears, climbing poles. 木兰每一项都失败得很惨，士兵们纷纷嘲笑她。
Mulan failed at everything, and the soldiers laughed at her. 晚上，她坐在河边，难过得想掉眼泪。
That night, she sat by the river, almost in tears. 木须跳出来安慰她：“别灰心！明天会更糟……呃，是更好！”
Mushu popped out and cheered her up, “Don’t worry! Tomorrow will be worse—uh, better!” 木兰忍不住笑了，但心里依旧沉重。
Mulan laughed a little, though her heart was still heavy. 第二天，李翔下达命令：“谁能取下杆顶的箭，谁就能留下。”
The next day, Li Shang announced, “Whoever retrieves the arrow at the top of the pole may stay.” 士兵们一个个尝试，却都失败了。
One soldier after another tried but failed. 轮到木兰时，大家冷笑：“她更不可能！”
When Mulan stepped forward, the others sneered, “She’ll never make it!” 木兰深吸一口气，观察绳索与重物，开始攀爬。
Mulan took a deep breath, studied the ropes and weights, and began climbing. 她把重石绑在自己身上，用它来保持平衡。
She tied the weights to herself and used them to balance her climb. 一步、两步……木兰的动作越来越稳。
Step by step… Mulan’s movements grew steady. 士兵们惊讶地看着她越爬越高。
The soldiers watched in shock as she climbed higher. 终于，她成功拿下了箭。
At last, she reached the top and grabbed the arrow. 她把箭递给李翔，将士们都安静了下来。
She handed the arrow to Li Shang, and everyone fell silent. 李翔微微点头：“做得好，花平。”
Li Shang nodded slightly. “Well done, Ping.” 从那天起，木兰成为全营最努力、最优秀的士兵。
From that day on, Mulan became the most hardworking and skilled soldier in the camp. 她终于迈出了成为真正战士的第一步。
She had finally taken her first step toward becoming a true warrior. |
