Chapter Three: Entering the Land of the Dead

Miguel stood in the cemetery and realized he had become a skeleton.

He stared at his hands and feet in panic, stepping back in fear.

Living people walked past him, unable to see him at all.

The dead appeared joyfully in the night.

A glowing bridge of marigold petals stretched into the distance.

Miguel was led to the entrance of the Land of the Dead.

Tall buildings and bright lights filled the city.

Skeletons lined up to cross the golden marigold bridge.

Miguel saw some spirits stopped because their photos were missing from the altar.

He realized that only the remembered could visit the living world.

Miguel finally met his family—now skeletons.

They hugged him excitedly, then froze in shock at seeing him alive.

His family told him he must return to the living world before sunrise.

Otherwise, he would remain in the Land of the Dead forever.

Miguel said he wanted to find his great-great-grandfather to get his blessing.

His family protested, “We won’t let you touch music again!”

Miguel felt disappointed but did not give up.

He decided to search for the truth on his own.

On the streets of the Land of the Dead, he began a new journey.

Ahead of him waited more secrets and challenges.
