Chapter Four: The Fire Ignites

玛伦的死，让威廉再也无法回到从前的生活。
Murron’s death meant William could never return to his old life.

英军的暴行并没有因此停止。
The cruelty of the English soldiers did not stop.

Instead, they became even more ruthless.

William understood that running away no longer mattered.

He began to step toward conflict instead of avoiding it.

When the soldiers entered the village again, William did not step back.

他举起武器，直面压迫者。
He raised his weapon and faced the oppressors directly.

This time, he was not alone.

一些村民站到了他的身旁。
Some villagers stood beside him.

恐惧依然存在，但愤怒更加强烈。
Fear was still there, but anger was stronger.

Fighting broke out in the village.

The soldiers did not expect resistance.

威廉冲在最前面，用行动带领众人。
William charged at the front, leading through action.

His courage spread to those around him.

For the first time, the villagers realized they were not powerless.

   The soldiers were driven away, and the village was briefly free.

   The victory was not perfect, but it mattered.

   The news quickly traveled farther.

   More and more people began to talk about rebellion.
