Chapter Three: Meeting Guy

Eep kept thinking about the boy with the fire.

She wanted to know more about the world outside.

Guy told her he had been traveling everywhere.

He had seen many new places.

He used fire to chase away darkness and wild animals.

Eep thought he was very brave.

Guy also had a little sloth with him.

The sloth’s name was Belt.

Belt always looked a little nervous.

Guy told Eep that the world was falling apart.

The ground would crack, and volcanoes would erupt.

Only by moving forward could anyone survive.

Eep believed what he said.

She felt it was the answer she had been looking for.

But Grug still did not trust Guy.

He thought Guy was too dangerous.

Two ways of thinking were colliding.

One was fear.

One was hope.

Their journey was about to begin.
