Chapter Nine: Saving the Family
Everyone was trapped in front of a huge rocky canyon.
The world ahead was falling apart.
Fire and rocks kept falling from the mountains.
The Crood family was terrified.
Grug held his family close.
Guy shouted that they must keep moving.
They saw a dangerous crack ahead.
Only by jumping across could they survive.
Eep bravely jumped first.
The little sister was passed safely across.
Mom and Grandma followed quickly.
But Grug was blocked by falling rocks.
He was trapped on one side of the crack.
Everyone turned back and shouted his name.
Grug looked at his family and smiled gently.
He knew he had to make a choice.
To save his family, he pushed them away.
Guy and Eep tried desperately to pull him.
But the crack grew wider and wider.
With all his strength, Grug sent his family to safety.
His love was stronger than fear.
