W: I’ve finished the tests. I wanted to talk to you before returning them to the class.

M: Oh, don’t tell me that I failed another exam! I tried so hard.

W: You didn’t fail. But in fact you got the highest grade in the class. I’m concerned about how you accomplished this.

M: Well, I didn’t cheat, if that’s what you think. I’ve actually changed my study habits, planning my study time better so that I don’t wait until the last day to study. It’s made a world of difference in how well I learn the materials.

M: Oh, that would be great. I’d like to see what we’re up against.

W: Michigan has a strong team, we’re in for a tough one. They’re one of the top football teams in the country now since they beat Iowa last weekend. Come to think of it, why don’t you go ahead and check out the game films right now? And just rest that knee this afternoon. I want you to be well in three days.

M: All right, I’ll be back tomorrow afternoon for full practice.

W: OK. Here’s the key to my office. The films are on my desk, and the projector is all set up.

W: When Mr. Jones went to a restaurant one day, he left his coat near the door. There was nothing in the pockets of the coat when he left it. So he was very surprised when he took his coat after his meal and found the pockets full of jewellery! There was a waiter near the door, so Mr. Jones said to him, “Someone has made a mistake. He has put some jewellery in my coat. Take it, and when he comes back, give it to him.” The waiter took it and went away. Suddenly another man came in with a coat just like Mr. Jones’. “I’m sorry,” said the man. “I made a mistake. I took your coat and you have got mine. Please give me my coat and jewellery.” Mr. Jones answered, “I gave the jewellery to the waiter. He will give it to you.” Mr. Jones called the manager of the restaurant, but the manager said, “We have no waiters here. We only have waitresses.”
