听力原文:

Text 1

M: What a beautiful house! Your house is bigger than ours.

W: Thank you for saying that. So is Ben’s. But Bob’s is smaller.

Text 2

M: Excuse me, Madam, would you mind opening the door for me? My hands are full.

W: Of course.

Text 3

W: Mary, which color do you like better, green or blue?

M: I don’t like green or blue. I prefer dark blue.

Text 4

M: Do you have any plans for the weekend, Lucy? Would you like to join me for a movie?

W: Thanks, but I’m going to work on my paper all weekend.

M: Well, are you available next weekend?

Text 5

M: Rosy, I’m leaving for Edinburgh on business the day after tomorrow. Would you like me to take anything to Justin?

W: Yeah. Here’s his address. Please take it with you. And please give him these medicines when you see him there.

Text 6

W: Anna and Bill have invited us to dinner on Friday night. I’ve told them we’d come.

M: Great! You know I like Anna’s cooking. What time?

W: 6:30. I think we’d better set out at 6:00 as the traffic is very heavy.

M: Shall we take anything? A bottle of wine or some cake?

W: No. Anna wants to do all the food preparation herself.

M: Well, let’s take some flowers. You know Anna loves roses.

W: Good idea. Can you come home from work a little earlier than usual? I’d like to be on time.

M: OK. I’ll try.

Text 7

M: Hello. Are you the person who has a house for sale?

W: Yes, I am.

M: Well, the ad says that it has four bedrooms and three baths, just what I need for the family of six. May I ask how much you want for it?

W: I prefer not to talk about it over the phone, but let’s say it’s $50,000. But you should pay me $10,000 first. Why don’t you come by and take a look?

M: Well, I’m not sure I could pay you such a large sum of money right now, but I would like to see the house. By the way, could you tell me how to get to Churchill Avenue from South Florida Street?

Text 8

M: Is that Ann?

W: Yes.

M: This is Mike. How are things with you?

W: Oh. Very well, but I’m very busy.

M: Busy? But you’ve finished all your exams.

W: Yes, but I’ve lots of other things to do. I have to help my little sister with her foreign language.

M: How about coming out with me this evening? There’s a new film put on.

W: I’m sorry, but I’m afraid I just can’t go with you. A friend of mine is coming from the south and I have to go to the station to meet him this evening.

M: What a pity! How about the weekend then?

W: No, I’ve arranged to go to an art exhibition with my parents. We’re all very interested in arts, you know.

M: What about next week sometime?

W: Maybe.

Text 9

W: We’re thinking about putting on a show this spring.

M: Do you think you’ll be able to make some money?

W: Oh, no, we just want to do it for fun. You know there are a lot of us who like to get up on a stage and perform.

M: What kind of show?

W: A musical play.

M: Have you decided who to do it with?

W: We have three in mind, and of course we’ve been thinking of you.

M: Me? Why me?

W: You sing, don’t you? Everyone says you have a wonderful voice.

M: Well, I have sung a little, but I’ve never really appeared on a stage.

W: I thought you sang in church every Sunday.

M: That’s different. There are so many other singers, too.

W: Then here’s your chance to find out how good you are. And not just to sing but to act and dance, too.

M: Oh, it might be exciting.

Text 10

W: We have a big, well-equipped library in our school. There is a librarian in charge of it. Students of the school may borrow books from this library, but they may not lend them to others. Students may borrow three books at a time. They may also keep these books for any length of time up to a fortnight. If they do not return them on time, they may be refused to borrow any more. The library has a reference section. The books in this section may not be taken away. There are also magazines and newspapers in the library. These, like the reference books, may not be borrowed. There are a number of rules for good behavior in the library. Students ought to put the books back in their right places on the shelves. They should leave the magazines and newspapers in good order. They should take the books carefully and keep them clean and not damage them. Students may not talk or make any noise in the library. They ought also to keep reasonably quiet when they are passing along outside the library.
